Demon Records are delighted to announce the release of Haircut 100% Live! Hammersmith Odeon Spring 1982 for Record Store Day 2023, released with full co-operation of the band. Haircut 100% Live! Hammersmith Odeon Spring 1982 is an in-concert album that highlights the group at the summit of their powers – high speed funk, to-die for pop and sweet melodies against the backdrop of Haircutmania. No overdubs and the high-octane energy of youth. The group moved from being London underground darlings to chart sensations in less than six months, and within a year had disappeared into pop’s ether, leaving behind one memorable album and four Top 10 UK singles, but many have said that the real way to experience the power of the Haircuts was to see them play live.
Pressed on zinging translucent red vinyl, Haircut 100% Live! Hammersmith Odeon Spring 1982 is an absolute must for all fans of frenetic funky fabulous melodic pop. This recently unearthed recording was part of the acclaimed Pelican West 40 CD set.
It includes their cover version of set opener Low Rider by War, where the group all appeared on stage one-by-one. Inner bag contains snapshots taken at the Hammersmith gig and after show on 1 April 1982 from guitarist Graham Jones’ personal archive. Mastered by Phil Kinrade at AIR Mastering.

A one man band born in the mid 70’s in Detroit, MI, The Happy Dragon Band is the brain child of Thomas Court. A studio wiz, synth pioneer and electronic music professor. After releasing one private press LP he went on to other pursuits and the obligatory obscurity followed. This is truly a one of a kind mashup of early analog synths, Floydian psych ballads, and even some proto new wave and reggae. The record will be getting its first ever reissue and wide release for Record Store Day 2023, and is limited to 1,000 copies worldwide.

In 1984, Robert Diggs, now known as RZA, formed a rap group with his cousins Russell Jones and Gary Grice which they called “All In Together Now”. Diggs and Grice then signed with Jamaica Records for management purposes and Jamaica convinced Tommy Boy Records to sign Diggs as a solo artist under the name Prince Rakeem in 1989. “Ooh I Love You Rakeem” was released as a single but Diggs was subsequently dropped by Tommy Boy Records, and later went on to form the Wu Tang Clan. This remastered, colored, single contains the track title, “Sexcapades” & “Deadly Venoms” and was initially released in 1991.

In 1992, The Residents pondered their 20th Anniversary. A best-of collection had been proposed, and the group gathered together to draw up a potential tracklist. All was well until one of the Eyeballed Entities, unconsciously expressing something none of them had been able to verbalize, threw up on that tracklist.
Once the dust had settled, somewhere in there, amongst the resulting soggy mess of vomit, paper and ink, The Residents noticed the proposed best-of song titles had congealed into a collage of new, never before heard tunes. 'Kick A Cat' and 'Picnic In The Jungle' had become 'Kick A Picnic', whilst 'Amber' and 'Six Things To A Cycle' had become 'Six Amber Things'. You get the idea.
This was it! Inspired by the rather repulsive mess that sat before them, the group chose to take the entire episode as a sign and began recording collages of select tracks from their back catalogue as instructed by those soggy scraps. What better way to celebrate twenty long dreary years of obscure stardom and sacrifice a few of their own sacred cows at the same time?!
Never before released on vinyl, and with their 50th Anniversary in mind in 2023, The Residents now present 'Our Finest Flowers' for your consideration again. The classic 1992 20th Anniversary album, which saw The Residents rework lyrics, melodies and themes from their entire back catalog into an album of new tracks, on vinyl for the first time. Includes an insightful new essay by JIM KNIPFEL. Celebrating twenty long dreary years of obscure stardom...

The Rockfords could be called a Seattle supergroup, but the band was actually a reunion; Chris Friel and Danny Newcomb of the band Goodness and Rick Friel of Jody Watts were in a band called Shadow with Mike McCready of Pearl Jam during the mid-'80s; in the late '90s they re-formed and added Goodness vocalist Carrie Akre under the name The Rockfords (named after McCready's favorite TV show The Rockford Files). Together, they released one self-titled album for Epic in 2000 that featured production by John Goodmanson (Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney, Death Cab for Cutie) and a vocal turn by Nancy Wilson of Heart on the song "Riverwide;" the record was critically acclaimed but the band went back to their "day jobs" before recording a self-released EP, Waiting, also produced by Goodmanson and released in 2004. Real Gone Music's 2-LP release (in cherry wax) features both the self-titled LP and the EP, both never before on vinyl, in a sweet gatefold package. Limited to 2500 copies!

In 1968 The Rolling Stones returned to their blues roots on Beggars Banquet, which was immediately acclaimed as one of their landmark achievements. A strong acoustic Delta blues flavor colors much of the material, particularly “Prodigal Son” and “No Expectations.” Basic rock n’ roll is not forgotten with “Street Fighting Man” and “Sympathy For The Devil.” The lyrical bite of the material ensured the album’s place as one of the top blues-based records of all time.
Exclusive to Record Store Day 2023, this LP is pressed on grey, blue, black and white swirl vinyl as an ode to the lyric “a swirling mass of grey, blue, black and white,” from “Salt Of The Earth,” as performed in The Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus. Featuring the original album artwork and an original window display poster.
